A Wet Saturday Afternoon!

What better way to cool off on a hot Saturday afternoon than a water fight! On Saturday, July 11th 2009 at Lumberman’s Arch in Stanley Park hundreds of people of all ages came out to participate in the 3rd annual Vancouver’s Largest Waterfight. This water splashing event was organized on Facebook and quickly became one of the most popular flash-mobs in Vancouver. Although I did arrive at the battle field over two hours late, there were still tons of people with water guns out to play. Just moments after I stepped onto the playing field a bucket of ice cold water was poured over my head by a random stranger. Sadly I didn’t get many pictures because I quickly put my camera in a Ziploc bag and seek revenge! Join the facebook group for photos and info on next year’s event. I’ll be sure to come on time :)

Transformers 2

Mikaela & Sam <3 Despite the rainy Vancouver weather there was still a large group of eager robot lovers outside the theater waiting for the 10:40AM showing of Transformer 2: The Revenge of the Fallen more than hour prior to the screening. No, that wasn’t a typo I said “AM”! Most people would think that 10:40AM is a little early for an IMAX experience but there is no other way to watch this movie. Two years after the first defeat of the evil robots the Decepticons, Sam (Shia LaBeouf) is off to college. Shia LaBeouf is one lucky kid at 21 his career is booming and he also gets to star along side hottie, Megan Fox. The Revenge of the Fallen has more robots, more action, more beautiful locations, less of a story plot. Like before it is up to Optimus Prime and the Autobots to once again save the day with a little help from their human friends. But I’m not complaining I left the theaters with a smile. For the best viewing experience, tap into your inner child, have fun and pass the popcorn!

Taylor Swift’s Thug Story

Watch Thug Story!

So what happens when a country cutie turns into a hardcore gangster? I heard this on the radio today and couldn’t believe they even made a video for this song. Who would of thought Taylor Swift & T-Pain would ever be in a rap collaboration. I guess dreams really do come true?

“You don’t wanna fight me . . . in my extra-small white T.”

Have You Got the Spending Bug?

Spending Bug

Spending Bug

Whether it’s keeping up with the latest summer trends or your inability to resist a good party, the money flu is highly contagious at this time of year. With my bank balance slowly decreasing I’ve narrowed down my money problems to 3 causes.

1. I can’t separate my “wants” from my “needs”
So the sun is out and it’s time to hit the beach and a cute bikini is essential, but do I really need a new one? We’re all guilty of spending on the non-essentials but don’t put off paying your bills just because you’ve convinced your self you “need” something else. You may end up with 4 new bikinis to choose from like me.

2. I can’t resist the sales
A fashionista’s biggest weakness is a Sale. “Two for One” or “50% off” usually justifies most of my purchases. Stop telling your self that you’re saving money in the long run. Trust me, more often then not you end up with tons of stuff you don’t need or will never wear.

3. I struggle to keep up with my friends
Friendship can be an expensive habit, what with cash-draining nights out and birthdays to chip in for. But here’s the good thing, true friends will understand if you can’t split the bill or you’re sticking to soft drinks for awhile.

If these 3 money problem causes seem awfully familiar then you too might have the spending bug. Splurging once and awhile seems harmless but without control it can lead to mounting debts and result in an empty piggy bank.

Hip Hop Dance Canada & The Championships:

2009 Canadian Hip Hop Championships

2009 Canadian Hip Hop Championships

In 2002 the Canadian Hip Hop Championships was created by Hip Hop Dance Canada in Montreal. This competition gave dancers across Canada a chance to perform and compete locally and also the opportunity to represent our country on a global level. The first place winners of the 2009 Canadian Hip Hop Championships will have the honor of competing at the 2009 World Hip Hop Championships in Las Vegas, NV. With over 30 countries participating, from Brazil, to japan and New Zealand the World Hip Hop Championships has become the international hip hop event of the year!

Hip Hop dancers from the west coast will compete on Friday, June 5th 2009 at the Don Bosco Youth Centre in Surrey, BC. Admission is $15 in advance or $20 at the door and can be purchased at Dipt Urban Wear.

Good luck to all the competing teams and remember that no matter what the results are this competition has brought us all together to celebrate one love, hip hop <3

My First Post

So here it is, my first post on my brand new blog. This website was suppose to launch in January 2009 as my “New Year’s Project” but as you can tell since it’s almost summer time I’ve procrastinated a little bit. The last couple of days I’ve spent hours upon hours thinking about how to make my blog better than the other guys. It’s sadly become a time consuming obsession. So my message to everyone out in the blog-osphere: “Hello and welcome to my online home!” If you have any tips for a newb blogger, feel free to e-mail me or leave a comment.

Stay tune for more updates :)
